Our Meetings

We meet every fourth Saturday of each month with three exceptions, the annual picnic, the Klingspor Extravaganza in October, and our combined November/December meeting.

klingspor Extravaganza

The 2024 Extravaganza is already in the preparation stages and we are anticipating a wonderful event this year. Stay tuned for updates as they become available for this year’s event and how you can participate.

Each year in October Klingspor has a wonderful extravaganza that has many things for woodworkers of all kinds. Each year clubs can show their members work, and our club always has fine examples of our members work. Scrolling is always a favorite, and this year we were able to demonstrate and teach skills on a scroll saw. We have several members that excel at this craft, and are willing to share tips and techniques. If you want to know more, come to a club meeting for a visit and find out if we can be a club for you.

Club Woodworking Contest

Each year members can build an item based on the rules the club chooses, judging and prizes for the best project are awarded at the annual picnic. Our contest rules recently have been to build anything you want from wood. As shown below some years the idea was to build something from a 2×4. We have had two categories which are Novice/Intermediate and Advanced. You can choose which one you feel you should be in, and a first, second, and third place prize is awarded to the winners. Judging is done by the club members. Typically the project is judged based on things like creativity, fit/finish, and overall appeal. Projects must have been completed during the year in which the contest is done. All styles and types of woodworking are accepted.
